Split View for YouTube · Last updated: 16 September 2026

ITjustworks Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides Split View for YouTube, a browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (the “Extension”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the Extension.

In short: The Extension collects nothing. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it contains no networking code of any kind, so it cannot send information anywhere. The only thing it stores is your own layout settings, held by your browser.

1. Who we are

This privacy notice applies specifically to the Split View for YouTube extension. For information about ITjustworks Ltd’s website and other services, please see our main Privacy Policy.

The data controller is ITjustworks Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16645618, with registered office at 113 Romford Road, London, United Kingdom, E15 4LY. For any privacy enquiries, contact our Data Protection Officer at [email protected].

2. What the Extension does

The Extension has a single purpose: it re-arranges the layout of the YouTube watch page so that the video, the comments and the suggested videos each sit in their own independently scrollable pane. It changes how the page is laid out and nothing else.

3. Information we collect

We collect no information at all. The Extension does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, location or any other personal information. It does not use analytics or tracking technologies, and it does not display advertisements.

The Extension contains no networking code. It makes no requests to our servers or to anyone else’s, so there is no mechanism by which information about you could reach us. We operate no server that holds data about users of the Extension.

4. Settings stored by your browser

So that the Extension remembers how you like it, it stores the following using your browser’s own extension storage:

These are your own display preferences. They contain no personal information, no browsing history and no record of what you have watched.

This storage is provided by your browser, not by us. If you have browser sync switched on, your browser will synchronise these settings between the browsers you are signed in to, through your browser account, in the same way it synchronises your bookmarks. That synchronisation is carried out by your browser vendor under their own privacy policy. We have no access to it and never receive these settings. If you prefer the settings to stay on one machine, turn off extension sync in your browser’s sync settings.

These settings are removed when you uninstall the Extension.

5. What the Extension accesses on YouTube

The Extension runs only on www.youtube.com and on no other website. On the watch page it reads the page’s own layout structure, which it needs in order to place the panes and to size the video to its correct shape.

It does not read, record or transmit the videos you watch, your search or watch history, the comments on a page, your YouTube account details, or anything you type. Nothing it reads leaves your browser, because the Extension has no means of sending it anywhere.

6. Permissions

The Extension requests a single permission, storage, which is what allows it to remember the settings described in section 4. It requests no access to your tabs, your browsing history, your downloads, your clipboard, or any website other than YouTube.

7. Children’s privacy

The Extension is suitable for users of all ages. There are no accounts, no advertising and no profiling, and because it collects nothing, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Data security

We do not operate any server that holds your personal data, and no data about you is transmitted anywhere by the Extension. Your settings are held by your browser and protected by your device’s and your browser’s own security features.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have rights over your personal data. Because we hold no personal data about users of the Extension, there is nothing for us to provide, correct or delete. You can remove your stored settings at any time by uninstalling the Extension. If you have any question about this, contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

10. International transfers

We transfer no personal data, within or outside the United Kingdom, because we receive none. If your browser synchronises your settings between your devices, that transfer is made by your browser vendor under their own privacy policy and their own safeguards, and we are not a party to it.

11. Not affiliated with YouTube

Split View for YouTube is an independent extension produced by ITjustworks Ltd. It is not created, endorsed, sponsored or certified by YouTube LLC or Google LLC. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC, used here only to describe the website the Extension works with.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
